I'd recommend against this book _for using UML_. It's an excellent book
nonetheless, but it uses UML notation in a non-standard way.

To anyone who's looking for a short overview I'd recommend Martin
Fowler's "UML Distilled". If you want the real thing, though, go for
Booch/Rumbaugh/Jacobson "The UML Language Users Guide"; there's really
no way around this one.
