Numeric Python and threads

This is a bug in the NumTut package, not Numeric Python. I thought I
fixed it, but apparently not.
A quick hack is to change the line
_have_threads = 1
to
_have_threads = 0
and it should work by using os.system() instead of the fancy-shmancy
threads.
Let me know either way.
