SQL like tables in XML via Python

Maybe somebody on the list can help me. I spend hours yesterday searching
the web, but without any luck.

I remember reading a year ago about using a subset of XML to make SQL-like
tables, saving the data in xml format.

There was an api and code examples, and I seem to remember that there was
Python examples too.

Does anybody have a link???
