Using the Python license

I want to use the Python license for my extension, so I have a few
questions.

Is it appropriate for C++ code, or just for Python?

Is there a standard license file for me to include with my source?  The one
that ships with the Python source appears to be fairly Python specific.

And, does anyone have a link to some comparative information about the
different licenses?  I'm interested in the main 'anything goes' licenses:
Python, BSD, and the LGPL.
