Is inheritance broken?

Thank you all very much for your insights. I am getting the impression that
there as many ways to use inheritance as there are martial art fighting
styles (OOP Fu :-). I just checked* and it appears Scott Meyers has a book
on effective programming which I now intend to purchase. Obviously, there is
more to inheritance than is covered by my borrowed copy of "Learning
Python". Thanks again,
