Funny how folks like to make predictions based on imagined statistics.

Given the way that this field changes, I doubt anyone could accurately
make such a prediction based on established languages.

Personally, I have lost of reasons not to use either Perl of VB, but
they are _very_ popular in my market. The positive apsects of a
language rarely can overcome a mindshare based on history and
investment.
