Thanks very much for your help; you've given me all sorts of new ideas to
try out. I was just running round in circles before! I had wondered about
using classes, but I wasn't sure how to go about their implementation.

Martin: thanks for clarifying event-driven processing for me!

Now I can get back to doing work instead of chasing my tail ;)
