Quick GUI Questions - Seeking Advice

Take a look at http://www.openrpg.com/

It is a TCP chat/meeting/whiteboard application for Role playing games.
It is written in Python and wxWindows.

There is a map module that lets users click the mouse and move icons around, this movement is sync'd across all the clients
