What platforms though?

A version of python for the pocket pc eg. win ce can be found
here: http://www.murkworks.com/Research/Python/PocketPCPython/Overview

Python for palmos:
   http://www.isr.uci.edu/projects/sensos/python/

PS: I haven't found either of them to be very reliable though
as they are pre-release. If you want a real embedded solution, look at java
