I eventually gave up (and later found out I was banned, I don't know
what effect that was supposed to create).  My impression is that they
are a bunch of very young, very idealistic, very naive folks, most of
which who aren't even old enough to be doing programming professionally
and so have a very limited worldview, who are very eager to prove to the
world how smart they are, usually by getting into pointless quibbling
arguments boiling down to, "If you don't agree with me, you're wrong."

The point at which I actually saw them kick and ban someone for asking
about someone else's car is when I realized that I had been wasting my
time.  I enjoyed helping newbies with their Python questions, but
dealing with the overinflated egos of these kids was like constant
fingernails on a chalkboard.
