urllib threads?

I suggest that you swipe my threaded retrieve code from my home page,
test it to verify for own satisfaction that it works correctly, and then
progressively modify it until it does what you want.  If you hit a
failure point in the middle of this process, that should make pinpointing
the problem easier.
