Anyone know of a webmail(yahoo) <--> localhost mail sync app in Python

I am looking for an application in Python that will allow me 
to synchronize my free yahoo webmail account with a local mail 
reader for off-line mail access. Using Outlook at this point is
a don't care.

I have found some stuff in perl/php, but nothing in python.  
Some apps that look like they will work are squirrelmail, 
fetchyahoo.pl and Open WebMail.  Ultimately, I will need to 
support this application company wide and would like it not to 
be in perl/php.
