Its really nice Aisha is doing everything possible to keep this mailing
list active.

Concerning the location/postcode api, I suggest we look at how fedex came
up with their internal code system for the different states in the country.
I happen to come across their excel doc containing their code system. I
just uploaded the csv containing this information.

The implementation / coding process won't really be an issue because a
framework like geodjango is very suitable for this kind of project. The
main hurdle to cross is getting the shapefiles for all the different
vicinities/postcodes/areas in the country. The current publicly available
shapefile for the country is grouped by administrative regions (LGA) which
I think is too broad.  These are my thoughts and suggestion.
