Job Position: CTO
*Job Opportunity Description:*
Our client, a Pan-African start-up, is looking for an individual who has
the competence and experience as a senior developer/technology lead to be
qualified as CTO.
• At least 10 years development experience across multiple IT projects
• Proof of executions for building and managing large projects across
Front-end, Back-end, Mobile Applications & Database development on multiple
languages
• Comfortable to lead teams (both onshore and offshore)
• Start-up DNA and can execute in a fast paced, unstructured environment
with a small team to deliver impactful and amazing products to our customers
• Open to the entrepreneurial challenges of setting his/her own team and
internal processes
• Familiar with Lean/Agile/Kanban/Rapid Prototyping development
methodologies
• Understanding of PHP, Python and their respective frameworks
• Deep understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure and Bluemix
• Has performed Google Analytics integrations
• Research, evaluate, and propose cutting edge, resourceful technologies
that can solve business problems quickly and economically
• Own overall engineering deliverables and be able to clearly communicate
risks, dependencies, and progress to the executive leadership team
• Bonus if having founded, worked, secured funding and/or released an MVP
in a start-up
• Bonus if having played around with Watson or any other AI products

Responsibilities:
• Think strategically to define and own the overall technology road-map for
our solution offering
• Work closely with the founding team to deliver the next iteration of our
product from the existing MVP that will meet our Route-to-Market strategy
and existing pipeline
• Build a 12-month project plan aligned to the technology road-map
• Provide leadership and manage a group of highly talented onshore and
offshore developers
• Architect and design overall system platform to eventually scale to
millions of users and terabytes of data
• Hire, mentor, inspire, coach and build a world class engineering
organization to deliver simple and delightful solutions to our customers
• Work with a team to develop the Algorithms required to mine the data that
our solution delivers within its process
• Clearly articulate the value of the platform design and technology
components to other executives, customers, partners, and investors
