[Pythonmac-SIG] MacPython 2.3 - Carbon only?

What's the huge deal with supporting just 8.6 or later? Yeah I know some
people on earlier OS versions will be cut off. This is the way things
have progressed for years in the Macintosh software community, after a
while you can't support everything.
As for Mr. Magladry's problem with not supporting anything less than 8.6,
I can't see the issue. Does your company need to use the latest release at
all? I mean, that I assumed that in the making of a game engine including
Python that you would have tailored some version of Python to your need.
Anyway this seems like a positive step to me. (Especially since all I use
any longer is OSX.)
