Maybe I'm missing something, but what IDE is out there for either of 
these languages?  Last time I checked they were both text 
editor/command line languages.

As far as Python editors on the Mac, XCode works well enough for me for 
PyObjC apps, and TextWrangler is great for "plain" scripts.
