It wasn't me--it was Troy with the problem. I work in two
environments: G5 PPC and Macbook Pro i386 so I am very, very careful
to select the right packages for the right processor endian
architecture and instruction set, the right Python, and the right OS
version (and maybe phase of the Moon). I have spent (or rather wasted
hours in the past) trying to track down a bug that turned out to be
environment related. I am seeing one with Python and Growl on the
Macbook Pro right now that works fine on the PPC. And I have the
Universal Python 2.4, Growl, and appscript installed. So I learned
(mostly;-).
