It wasn't me--it was Troy with the problem. I work in two  
environments: G5 PPC and Macbook Pro i386 so I am very, very careful  
to select the right packages for the right processor endian  
architecture and instruction set, the right Python, and the right OS  
version (and maybe phase of the Moon). I have spent (or rather wasted  
hours in the past) trying to track down a bug that turned out to be  
environment related. I am seeing one with Python and Growl on the  
Macbook Pro right now that works fine on the PPC. And I have the  
Universal Python 2.4, Growl, and appscript installed. So I learned  
(mostly;-).
