So you seriously expect that *every* application provides it own,
application specific way to backup data files?  Each application should deal
with the concept of incremental backups, or tape devices and removable
media?  Each application should implement its own scheduling, and user
interface to support all this?

Can you tell me any other application which offers this?  Certainly none of
the software I use on my machine.

Significantly harder than spouting unreasonable demands!
