Not just by looking at the database itself, since what the database contains
is very far removed from the actual messages themselves.

If you have mailboxes containing all the messages you used as training
input, you can browse them.  If you have the appropriate sort of
environment, you may be able to speed up this process by scoring all your
training messages and looking for scores which look like outliers (presumed
ham messages which score very high, for example).
