Sounds like you are trying to install from source.
You should try the Windows installer. It doesn't need Python.

We were all novices once.

By the way, I am *NOT* related to spambayes in any way. I'm just a user,
like you. I got help from this mailing list, and I repay my gratitude by
answering a few questions myself. Hopefully this takes a bit of burden
away from the real devs, so they can concentrate on what they do best:
pro wrestling. Uhhh... sorry, I meant developing great software. ;-)
