[Spambayes] Getting started with spambayes

I have just joined the spambayes list and have downloaded and installed 
spambayes-1.1a3, after failing with the 1.0.4 binary version.

I don't find any obvious main program or guidance.  What preparatory 
steps should I take and where do I launch?

Using XP with Python 2.5 and Firefox but  not PythonWin.

Any advice would be appreciated.
