+1 on inspect.types. If you really need to check for things like
MethodType, instead of simply hasattr(obj, '__call__'), then you're
really doing inspect-style code whether you've admitted it to yourself
yet or not. ;-)

I'm not *in*-sane. Indeed, I am so far *out* of sane that you appear a
tiny blip on the distant coast of sanity.
