[XML-SIG] 0.5.4 release candidate

I've put a release candidate for version 0.5.4 in
http://www.python.org/sigs/xml-sig/files/ 
(darn, just realized I forgot to GPG-sign it).  

The major purpose of this release is to make the package compatible
with the current state of the Distutils, though there have been other
changes along the way.  Can people please try it out and let me know
the result, even if it installed perfectly?  Thanks!
