  I'd have to dig around to see who wrote the modules in that
directory, but I seem to be taking the lead on further development of
XBEL (whcih I enjoy), so you can send them to me and I'll take a look
at them.
  I wouldn't be surprised if the issue is that xmllib is being used
for parsing rather than Expat.  I'll try and poke around it this
weekend.
