How to display a RGB image (MFISH)?

Hi, I have written a script to try to combine five images into a three channels RGB images<http://dip4fish.blogspot.com/2011/05/trying-to-combine-mfish-images-into-rg…> . The resulting RGB image looks like a grey scale image instead of a color one. I have three np.array Rnorm, Gnorm, Bnorm which are copied into a rgb array: *rgb = np.zeros((shape[0],shape[1],3),dtype=float) mxr=np.max(R) mxg=np.max(G) mxb=np.max(B) Rnorm=np.uint8((255*(R/mxr)))Gnorm=np.uint8((255*(R/mxg)))Bnorm=np.uint8((255*(R/mxb)))#copy each RGB component in an RGB array rgb[:,:,0]=Rnorm rgb[:,:,1]=Gnorm rgb[:,:,2]=Bnorm* *pylab.subplot(224, aspect='equal',frameon=False, xticks=[], yticks=[]) pylab.imshow(rgb) pylab.show()* Any advice? Help required regding Eigenvectors

Hello All, I have been encountering some strange problems with the calculation of eigen vectors using python. The problem is with the sign of the eigen vectors calculated. On Very few occasions the eigen vectors calculated using python have an opposite sign than the actual eigenvectors, though the magnitude is correct. Can any one of you plz help me in this regard and suggest me some solution if you have encoutered similar problems . Any help in this regd is appreciated Thanks in Advace regds Sudheer

NumPy 1.15.0rc1 released

Hi All, On behalf of the NumPy team I'm pleased to announce the release of NumPy 1.15.0rc1. This release has an unusual number of cleanups, many deprecations of old functions, and improvements to many existing functions. A total of 423 pull reguests were merged for this release, please look at the release notes <https://github.com/numpy/numpy/releases/tag/v1.15.0rc1>for details. Some highlights are: - NumPy has switched to pytest for testing. - A new `numpy.printoptions` context manager. - Many improvements to the histogram functions. - Support for unicode field names in python 2.7. - Improved support for PyPy. The Python versions supported by this release are 2.7, 3.4-3.6. The wheels are linked with OpenBLAS 3.0, which should fix some of the linalg problems reported for NumPy 1.14, and the source archives were created using Cython 0.28.2 and should work with the upcoming Python 3.7. Wheels for this release can be downloaded from PyPI <https://pypi.org/project/numpy/#description>, source archives are available from Github <https://github.com/numpy/numpy/releases/tag/v1.15.0rc1>. scipy versions and conda

Hi all, I asked about this on the anaconda_support list but so far have gotten no response. The problem is that when I go to install various packages recently, conda tells me that scipy needs to be downgraded from 1.0.1 to 0.19.1. This occurred with pyregion and with bokeh for my python 3.6.4 environment. Does anyone know why such a downgrade might be needed (or if it's really needed)? How different is 1.0.1 from 0.19.1? From the "what's new" it looks like a fair amount has changed, though I'm not sure if I'd notice the differences in my own usage. SciPy 32 bit build for Mac OS?

When installing the default scipy via pip on MacOS, using Python 2.7 (running in 32 bit mode) I still only get a 64 bit install of SciPy. Now, I can definitely compile my own version that has both 64 bit and 32 bit in it, but ideally someone has already made a version that also has the 32bit version. Even if it's a slightly older SciPy. Can anyone point me to such a build? Thanks. Unfortunately I need the 32 bit version, and the why is a longer story. Omar

NumPy 1.14.4 released.

Hi All, On behalf of the NumPy team, I am pleased to announce the release of NumPy 1.14.4. This is a bugfix release for bugs reported following the 1.14.3 release. The most significant fixes are: * fixes for compiler instruction reordering that resulted in NaN's not being properly propagated in `np.max` and `np.min`, * fixes for bus faults on SPARC and older ARM due to incorrect alignment checks. There are also improvements to printing of long doubles on PPC platforms. All is not yet perfect on that platform, the whitespace padding is still incorrect and is to be fixed in numpy 1.15, consequently NumPy still fails some printing-related (and other) unit tests on ppc systems. However, the printed values are now correct. Note that NumPy will error on import if it detects incorrect float32 `dot` results. This problem has been seen on the Mac when working in the Anaconda enviroment and is due to a subtle interaction between MKL and PyQt5. It is not strictly a NumPy problem, but it is best that users be aware of it. See the gh-8577 NumPy issue for more information. The Python versions supported in this release are 2.7 and 3.4 - 3.6. Wheels for all supported versions are available from PIP <https://pypi.org/project/numpy/> and source releases are available on github <https://github.com/numpy/numpy/releases/tag/v1.14.4>.
