That would be pillow[1][2] which is a fork of PIL that promises faster
bugfixing and a more open development model.

In reasonably current versions of Fedora and Ubuntu the package is
"python-pillow" or "python3-pillow" or "python-pillow" and "python2-pillow"
in ArchLinux, since Arch defaults to Python 3.
