Ah, finally, a mention! Anyway, I completely agree that a number of 
grassroots events around the world is a good idea. That way we can
avoid getting dragged into discussions about which place is 'due' (like
I just was).

Note by the way that we don't expect attendance figures for EuroPython will
be much less than IPC's, though of course we may be completely wrong.
We'll just have to see.
