[Mailman-Users] query regd configure script

Hi,

I have certain packages installed in my home directory - ~/local/. How should i make configure scripts to search for the header files in my home directory 
in addition to the system default? Because after i run configure script and run make, i get errors relating to header files being not found.

Is there any option which can be given to configure script?
