[Mailman-Users] procmail before mailman

Hello,
I'm trying to follow this recipe:
http://wiki.list.org/display/DOC/How+do+I+filter+incoming+mail+before+it+hits+mailman+%28e.g.%2C+using+procmail%29
But I'm not terribly comfortable editing the database file - as it
explicitly tells you NOT to:
"YOU SHOULD NOT MANUALLY EDIT THIS FILE
# unless you know what you're doing, and can keep the two files properly
# in sync. If you screw it up, you're on your own."
To be honest, I'm not even entirely sure what the 'TWO' files are, since I
rarely have touched mailman after I initially set it up (maybe it runs too
well )
So if someone could possibly expand on that WIKI post, ideally providing
another method (perhaps using postfix's virtual tables or something??) where
I could get procmail to intercept, that would be great.
Thanks!!
