each_channel decorator

After my failed @grayscale decorator suggestion (sorry again Johannes for all the unnecessary work this caused you), I was thinking it might be nice to add an @each_channel decorator. The basic idea is that the decorator would check if the input image is RGB, and applies the grayscale function to each channel of an RGB image. Cheers, -Tony

I would release a 0.7.1 to address the renaming and use 0.8 for new features. So, make a feature freeze at the moment - until 0.7.1 is released. Am Dienstag, 9. Are those binaries really that huge? I just tested this locally and the binaries were larger, but imho not too big. The question is who actually cares about a few extra KB disk space taken by a binary? Am Montag, 8. Let's try to avoid another rename ;) There are definitely a few good PRs waiting to be reviewed, but I'm inclined to wait until they've had some thorough vetting. (We could really use some help with review, if anyone out there has some free time---especially on some of the longer PRs.) That said, I'm inclined to merge PR #351<https://github.com/scikit-image/scikit-image/pull/351>and PR #360 <https://github.com/scikit-image/scikit-image/pull/360>. Hello, everyone With all the renaming of the past week, it would be good if we could make a new release. Are there any outstanding PRs we should consider including? I may also push 0.7.1 as a bug-fix release for building on OSX. Stéfan

Andreas or Mathieu: Does scikit-learn have a policy for upgrading dependencies (in particular Cython)? I'd lean toward more conservative versions of numpy, but more recent versions of Cython. I'm not sure how that would actually translate into hard numbers. Maybe numpy matches latest Ubuntu LTS, cython matches latest Ubuntu? (I don't run Ubuntu, btw, I just find it a convenient reference.) Or maybe some predetermined time delay after those releases? Best, -Tony
