Wondering, “What is IT Engineering? An information technology (IT) engineer manages computer hardware, software, network, and other applications that are related to computer systems of an organization. IT engineers’ job role varies depending on the organization they work for. They, however, configure, install, troubleshoot, and manage their workplace’s technology and software programs. Engineers will have to work with LANs/WANs/MANs to ensure that these networks meet the requirements of an organization.

Hi everyone,
I am happy to announce that scikit-image is now a NumFOCUS fiscally
sponsored project.
From the NumFOCUS website:
Fiscally sponsored projects formally become part of NumFOCUS. NumFOCUS
provides a number of services for fiscally sponsored projects,
including financial administration, operational and legal
support. Fiscally sponsored projects are also eligible to use NumFOCUS
resources and infrastructure to help raise money for the project.
Having a fiscal sponsor is another step in maturing the project,
obtaining funding, and hiring developers, documentation writers, web
developers, and others to drive our project forward.
I'd also like to highlight two important documents:
1. Governance and decision making
https://scikit-image.org/docs/dev/skips/1-governance.html
2. Mission statement
https://scikit-image.org/docs/dev/skips/2-values.html
2020 is off to an exciting start! I'm looking forward to what we can do
together, backed by formal support.
Best regards,
Stéfan

Hi all,
Our 32-bit builds are failing [1], seemingly because matplotlib has stopped shipping 32-bit wheels. We could put in effort into maintaining 32-bit compatibility, but in my opinion (and Stéfan's, I've just confirmed), that effort is better spent elsewhere, as we are having enough trouble keeping up with issues and PRs as it is. In other words, there are bugs and API issues out there affecting many more people than 32-bit support.
I'll also note that conda-forge has also stopped building for 32-bit architectures.
If someone cares about 32-bit wheels enough to pledge ongoing maintenance, now is your chance to speak up! Otherwise, we will drop 32-bit from our builds in the coming weeks.
Thanks, everyone!
Juan.
