XML-RPC server returns text/html on fault

I've run into a problem with a twisted XML-RPC server. When you request a (xml-rpc) function that doesn't exist, the response from the twisted server has the wrong content type so that the xml-rpc client can't handle it properly. (using a simple python xml-rpc client - verbose=True) reply: 'HTTP/1.0 200 OK\r\n' header: Date: Thu, 28 Dec 2006 08:50:36 GMT header: Content-length: 282 header: Content-type: text/html; charset=UTF-8 header: Server: TwistedWeb/2.2.0 body: "<?xml version='1.0'?>\n<methodResponse>\n<fault>\n<value><struct>\n<member>\n<name>faultCode</name>\n<value><int>8001</int></value>\n</member>\n<member>\n<name>faultString</name>\n<value><string>function echos not found</string></value>\n</member>\n</struct></value>\n</fault>\n</methodResponse>\n" ERROR <Fault 8001: 'function echos not found'> How can I change this behaviour so that it returns a proper xml-rpc response with a text/xml content-type header? - Remi -

How to free port 8080?

I have deleted all .tap files in the work directory(a *.tap would use 8080?),then "mktap telnet -p 8080 ..." and "twistd -f telnet.tap",testing on "telnet localhost 8080" get message as the following: ...... 2006/12/30 14:31 CST [-] twisted.internet.error.CannotLi stenError: Couldn't listen on any:8080: (98, 'Address already in use'). How to free the port 8080? -- Steve Han

Hi, I need to implement a REST-style web service that has 1) persistent connections and 2) pipelining. From reading the web2 source code it looks like the client/server can now do this. Is this the case. [Nevow] template performance

First let me say that I really like Nevow template system. Once you became expert with it, it proves to be really flexible. The problem is the performance. I have done a simple test with the rendering of a table 5 * 20, Nevow against Django, and Nevow is much slower. The problem is that, I think, there are a lot of objects adaptation. Is it possible to use that same model used by django.template? You pass a context (that is a dictionary usable like a stack: push/pop) to the render function. All the data directive will search the data in the context (like djando, first dictionary lookup, then attribute lookup, and so). As an example n:data='x.y' ==> ctx['x']['y']. A rend.Page.renderHTTP can build a context from the instance dictionary. Thanks and regards Manlio Perillo
