That dreid! It worked. Twisted supports Ruby CGI out of the box as 'RubyScript' . Which is weird, because I googled on "Ruby RPY" and various combinations and nothing came up to indicate that it would work. I guess the moral of the story is Don't RTFM because TFM is incomplete. Does anyone have a sample .rpy file for Ruby?

I am now able to run PHP and Perl as CGI under the twisted.server. The scripts are of the form: ############################# from twisted.web import static, twcgi class PHPScript(twcgi.FilteredScript): filter - '/usr/bin/php' #point to your php standalone executable. It should be compiled to run without a webserver. resource = static.File("/PhysicalDirectorForSourceFiles") resource.processors = ('.php': PHPScript) resources.indexNames = ['FrontPageForPHPWebsite'] ################################ What would I need to do in order to get Ruby to run under twisted.server? Twisted and patch-683 ?

Hi, I'm trying to get Moin running with Twisted using the standard packages available from the Debian on my server (python 2.3 / moin 1.3) and I'm running into the exact problem described in: http://moinmoin.wikiwikiweb.de/MoinMoinBugs/CrashWithTwisted Only difference is that I'm not (yet) trying to set up a farm but using mointwisted to serve a single wiki, but the error is triggered in the same way. At the bottom of the page a patch is suggested (patch-683), but following the link results in an error page from arch.thinkmo.de: ---------------------- Internal error Adding revision arch(a)arch.thinkmo.de--2003-archives/moin--main--1.3--patch-683 to library failed. Bad permissions or corrupt archive? Hint: Before reporting this problem, try to see whether debug mode unveils something. ---------------------- The patch is also listed on: http://moinmoin.wikiwikiweb.de/MoinMoinTodo/Release_2.0 but has the same URL (and hence error). XML-RPC: Failure vs. Fault

I'm trying to build up some XML-RPC based services. I was reading through the documentation [1] where its mentioned that xmlrpc_foo() functions in the server can return Failure objects to indicate errors. The XML-RPC spec uses a slightly different terminology of Faults. The xmlrpclib in Python's standard library also talks about being able to return Fault objects in case of errors. I was wondering how this is dealt with in Twisted. Fault objects have explicit faultCode and faultString parameters. I couldn't determine if and how these map to attributes of a Failure object. Sending Get to Resource Produces Nonsensical Error Message

My rpy script that instantiates a resource produces the following error message when I call it within a form: Method Not AllowedYour browser approached me (at /myFirst.rpy?sa=Search&domains=ahfb2000.com&q=hello) with the method "GET". I only allow the method GET here. Since the message recognizes that it is being sent a GET, why does it tell me that it only allows a GET? Method Not Allowed error when calling .rpy file

myFirst.rpy is: from twisted.web.resource import Resource class MyResource(Resource): isLeaf = True allowedMethods = ('GET',) def render_GET(self, request): return "<html>Hello, world!</html>" resource = MyResource() I ran mktap web --path ~/twistedScripts --port 9000 as root in the /home/admin/TwistedScripts directory. I then placed myFirst.rpy in the /root/twistedScripts directory For some reason I get the following error, which you can see yourself at http://www.jonathanmark.com:9000/myFirst.rpy "Method Not Allowed Your browser approached me (at /myFirst.rpy) with the method "GET". I only allow the method GET here." A search of the web indicates that adding allowedMethods = ('GET',) was supposed to fix this problem, only it doesn't. Any help would be appreciated. Fixes and improvements on FastCGI channel

Hello there, I'm sending attached a hacked version of the FastCGI channel for web2. It fixes a few bugs, and enhances it a bit, like adding support for multiplexing (default is still single request handling), and adding a startFastCGI function that enables it to work under "normal" FastCGI setup. I've left intact the original author's comments, at the top of the file, even though the ones regarding single request handling don't make sense anymore. He was so bold in his comments that I was afraid of touching it. :-) Please notice that, unfortunately, I'm not planning to maintain that code. It was just a way for me to get a feeling of the web2 infrastructure and twisted itself, since I hadn't looked at it for a while.
