How to properly overwrite directoryListing for generating custom directory listing

Hello I want to generate and serve a custom directory listing(like serving a single file instead of the whole directory). So, I looked at twisted.web.static.File.directoryListing(). But, I could not find any usage examples. So, how is it used? Specifically, I want to provide an array of file paths to generate the directory listing, so that I can pass file paths of different files which are not in the same directory and still render a directory listing. I know this can be done by directoryListing, but I cannot find any examples on how to overwrite it properly or how to pass it properly to twisted.web.server.Site() Sincerely proneon267

Problem with Nevow in Python 3

Twisted Web Agent configurable Elliptic Curves settings

I dug into this this afternoon and narrowed it down to the use of _defaultCurveName = u"prime256v1" in twisted.internet._sslverify.py I tried patching the current trunk with _defaultCurveName = u"secp384r1" (the EC that ssllabs.com reports) and it did work. Looking at ClientHello messages for openssl 1.0.2 and 1.1 [4]: with 1.1, only 1 Elliptic Curve is sent by Twisted Web Agent, secp256r1 openssl v1.1 client uses 4 by default: ecdh_x25519, secp256r1, secp521r1, secp384r1 I was wondering what is the proper way to configure requested Elliptic Curves. I haven't seen any interface for this, contrary to ciphers with acceptableCiphers. Thank you for your input. Best, Paul. Migration to Python Org Mailing Lists hosting announcement

Hi, This is a quick message to let you know that the current mailing list service will migrate from the Twisted own hosted services to the mailing list service provided by the Python organization. The migration is scheduled to start on the 5th of Augusts, 2021 17:00 UTC time (10:00am PDT / 18:00 BST) The following email address will no longer be available: twisted-web(a)twistedmatrix.com The new address will be: twisted-web(a)python.org The new archive will be hosted at https://mail.python.org/archives/ All existing subscribers will be migrated. If you only interact with the mailing list using your email you only need to update your existing filters and update your email contact address for the list. The migration is expected to take about 3 hours. After the migration, Glyph plans to implemea an email redirection, so even if you will send emails to the old address we should still receive them. Subject to availability :) We also plan to redirect the old mailing list pages and archives to the new pages. This will also happen after the migration. While in between jobs, I contributed a lot to the effort to port Twisted to Python 3. It was a very enjoyable experience, and I learned a lot of Python at the time. :) I joined the Python 2 porting party late, and there were others who invested a lot of time and effort into it. Amber did a heck of a lot of work before me on Python 3 porting, and did a lot of work after I contributed. I don't remember who else contributed, but there were a lot of folks including you, Jean- , Glyph, and others. The earliest Python 3 ticket I can find in the Trac is this one from 14 years ago filed by Itamar!! https://twistedmatrix.com/trac/ticket/2484 Honestly, at the time, when I was working on Python 3 porting in 2016, I wasn't even sure that Twisted would survive as a project beyond Python 2. On behalf of Twisted Matrix Laboratories, I am honored to announce the release of Twisted 21.2.0! There are two major announcements for this release: - *Python 2.7 support has been dropped*. Twisted 21.2.0 supports Python 3.5.3 and higher only - *This will be the last Twisted release to support Python 3.5*. Twisted 21.2.0 brings the following: - twist dns --pyzone now works on Python 3 - twisted.web.twcgi now works on Python 3 - all tests pass on all platforms on Python 3.8, including asyncio tests on Windows - tests pass on Python 3.9 (thanks to Michał Górny) - type hints, as specified in PEP 484, are now used in functions throughout the codebase - mypy (static type checker) is now run over the codebase during CI to help detect problems, and help improve the use of types - code in is now formatted with Black (thanks to Tom Most) - many CI and automation improvements (thanks to Adi Roiban and Thomas Grainger) - many more fixes (225 tickets closed!) twisted/nevow port to 3

Aloha I just posted the text below as a comment on https://github.com/twisted/nevow/ With Matthias Demleitner having done the bulk of the work of porting nevow to Python3 and me tackling the nevow/athena part I now have the tests down to FAILED (skips=4, expectedFailures=1, failures=1, successes=1037) which pretty much compares to what I see running the tests on Python2 PASSED (skips=4, expectedFailures=2, successes=1043) I have attached the two output files produced when running trial nevow I understand that I'm possibly the last one to use nevow but I have a few successful projects in production which rely nevow/athena and the Livepage implementation. These projects I will now subsequently port to Python3 as well. My question to the few still on the nevow mailing list and to the twisted web world in general is - how do I handle the merge back into the nevow project on github best? I'm asking because this work was not done in manageable junks with reviews but more in a single battle style relying completely on the validity of the test suit.
