Yes. By default Mailman will send to up to 500 recipients in one SMTP
transaction. Your MTA is not accepting that many. Your Mailman
smtp-failure log and your MTA logs should have entries telling you
this.
Set
SMTP_MAX_RCPTS = 10
in mm_cfg.py and see if that helps.
