spelling error in socket documentation

Hello, in the current version (3.6.2rc1) of the documentation of the socket module, the description of socket.setsockopt says: |socket.||setsockopt|(/level/, /optname/, /value: int/) |socket.||setsockopt|(/level/, /optname/, /value: buffer/) |socket.||setsockopt|(/level/, /optname/, /None/, /optlen: int/) Set the value of the given socket option (see the Unix manual page /setsockopt(2)/). The needed symbolic constants are defined in the |socket| <https://docs.python.org/3.6/library/socket.html#module-socket> module (|SO_*| etc.). The value can be an integer, |None| or a bytes-like object <https://docs.python.org/3.6/glossary.html#term-bytes-like-object> representing a buffer. In the *later* case it is up to the caller to ensure that the bytestring contains the proper bits (see the optional built-in module |struct| <https://docs.python.org/3.6/library/struct.html#module-struct> for a way to encode C structures as bytestrings). When value is set to |None|, optlen argument is required. It’s equivalent to call setsockopt C function with optval=NULL and optlen=optlen. Changed in version 3.5: Writable bytes-like object <https://docs.python.org/3.6/glossary.html#term-bytes-like-object> is now accepted. Changed in version 3.6: setsockopt(level, optname, None, optlen: int) form added. In my opinion, the fourth sentence should start with 'In the *latter* case..' not with 'In the later case'. Nick Coghlan added the comment: That part of the PEP was never implemented - relative imports have never been allowed to cross package boundaries in practice (which is also why "from . import sys" doesn't work as an equivalent to "import sys" at the interactive prompt or in a top level module). Rather than amending the PEP, my inclination is to drop that cross-reference from the documentation, and instead add a new subsection to https://docs.python.org/3/reference/import.html covering "Package relative imports" The key section that needs to be extracted is https://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0328/#guido-s-decision (minus the part about cross-package relative imports being permitted). FXpy is referenced in the docs...

FXPy Is referenced in the docs, but is not usable in any recent python, even by centos standards. FXPy is only, as far as I can get it working, for 1.5.2 through 2.2. There is no python 3 port, so it shouldn't be in the 3.x docs at all. Should... probably... remove that from the docs. https://docs.python.org/3/faq/gui.html#fox

[issue30798] Document that subprocess.Popen does not set PWD

New submission from James Lin: Even though http://bugs.python.org/issue4057 was rejected (which I think is fair), I think it would be worth mentioning something about PWD in the Python docs for subprocess.Popen's cwd parameter (and possibly for os.chdir): 1. It's pretty common for people to use Python to execute other things. 2. I don't think it's that uncommon to come across binaries/scripts that directly read PWD instead of calling getcwd() or equivalent. 3. For people who encounter this problem for the first time, it can be really puzzling. My suggestion would be to add something like: Note: Some programs might expect that the current directory is specified in a PWD environment variable.
