Hello all, We are delighted to announce that HydPy – Hyderabad Python user’s group [1] is happy host meetup for month of June, 2017. *We* welcome and love contributions! *We are* looking for proposals on every aspect of Python programming from novice to advanced levels. If you are a Pythonista, doing some cool stuff using Python Programming Language in different fields, if you are an upstream OpenSource Python Developer, want to share your ideas to the world. The mail is call for proposals (CFP). Folks who wish to contribute to this community with their knowledge and experience are requested to submit talks. And then we can go ahead and select one or two talks for June meetup. We are planning to organize meetup by end of June, 2017. Venue and exact date/time are yet to be decided. Once talks are ready we will discuss with few venue sponsors and can decide accordingly. I would also like community members to visit links mentioned in the mail for past meetups happened under flagship of HydPy [1] We are also happy to hear more suggestions from you and entire community. I think it should be the other way around. It is better to decide the venue/date first and then call for proposals. How will someone submit a proposal without knowing will they be able to attend the meeting or not? I don't live in Hyderabad, but would love to attend/speak if I'm going to be there in the city on those dates. Anand

I think it should be the other way around. It is better to decide the venue/date first and then call for proposals.
I agree with your opinion too. Here, the idea is to have proposals first and then with respect speaker’s choice/convenience the date is to be decided. Our past meetups have always been with pre-scheduled dates and venues. This is the very first time HydPy has call for proposals via mailing list. Hence, we are waiting for the kind of response from the community members. Based on responses, we can always plan on your said pattern in future. However, as the last date to submit CFP is 18th June, 2017, we ideally should be able to announce it well before the actual meetup date. It is mostly likely to happen on 24th June 2017. We have options regarding venue. If we decide early with the talks we can also quickly have venue announced. We surely will keep related notifications posted on our mailing list so that attendees can plan accordingly.
