I propose the following workflow: * PEP 101 is followed up to making the release tag * Send a message to p-c indicating the tag revision (probably a forward of the commit msg) * Before a) pushing the new web content, b) sending the announcment, wait for the "Go" signal from the following experts: WE, DE (we can amend that list in the future). The "Go" signal is also sent to p-c. How does that sounds? Python 3.0 branches ready

I plan to make these available for you to sanity check before I make the announcement. Of course, Martin will now be making the Windows binaries too, and we'll wait for those as well, so the release may not be announced until tomorrow. Also note that the py3k branch is now open for Python 3.1! Have fun and see you in 18 months. Tomorrow's releases

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I believe we are on track for releasing Python 3.0 final and 2.6.1 tomorrow. There is just one release blocker for 3.0 left -- Guido needs to finish the What's New for 3.0. This is bug 2306. So that Martin can have something to work with when he wakes up tomorrow morning, I would like to tag and branch the tree some time today, Tuesday 02-Dec US/Eastern. Therefore I am freezing both the 2.6 and 3.0 trees, with special dispensation to Guido for the updated What's New. Ping me on irc @ freenode #python-dev if you have anything else to check in to either tree before then. As soon as I hear from Guido, or issue 2306 is closed, I'm branching 3.0 and tagging it for release.
