For your info. Since pypy 1.6, the benchmarks for MyHDL have stagnated or become slightly worse (within 15%). Still, the results are much better than the average speedup over the pypy set of benchmarks. OSError trying to build 1.9 from source

Hi all, thanks for all the help so far! Still trying to build PyPy 1.9 on my 64-bit RHEL system. I've fixed all error messages except for this one (translation exits and enters debugger mode), which has me confounded: OSError: /fs/local/apps/Rational/releases/purify.i386_linux2.7.0.1.0-002/cache/storm0/lib64/libc.so.6_pure_p3_c0_1009241029_2618-194171el5_64: undefined symbol: __pure_dl_open Any ideas? This seems to be related to the problem I was having with the pre-built binary (I needed GLIBC_2.7, or libc.so.6). Problem linking 64 Bit library when 32 bit one is available PyPy 1.9

I am trying to build PyPy 1.9 from source, but getting an error message: [platform:Error] /usr/bin/ld: warning: i386 architecture of input file `/usr/lib/libcrypto.a(cversion.o)' is incompatible with i386:x86-64 output I have this: -L/usr/lib64/ in LDFLAGS and the gcc line is: [platform:execute] gcc /tmp/usession-release-1.9-11/platcheck_8.o -pthread -L/usr/lib64/ -L/contrib/libffi-3.0.11/lib/ /usr/lib/libssl.a /usr/lib/libcrypto.a -lz -lrt -o /tmp/usession-release-1.9-11/platcheck_8 In fact the correct libcrypto.a library would be /usr/lib64/libcrypto.a and it is installed on the system. I have seen this IRC log: http://tismerysoft.de/pypy/irc-logs/pypy/pypy.2010-10-30.log.html but I there is no makefile in /tmp/usession-release-1.9-xx/ and I don't have root access so I can't use a chroot environment. thanks! Patches for Pypy under cygwin

I edited / hacked the sources and managed to compile PyPy under Cygwin based on Python 2.6.7 and gcc-4.5.3. If you find this of interest, the patches are available at http://www.tux.org/~mayer/cygwin/pypy/. In particular the work-around for the tm structure to get by without the tm_gmtoff and tm_zone fields may be of interest, as it allows compilation of the rctime module on systems that don't have it, such as some versions of SunOS. --Uwe
