Hi, I was looking to run pypy on a PPC64 machine but realized from the install page that pypy support on PPC is stalled. Looking at the sources I found that there is a branch for PPC and that there have been some recent commits on that branch. I would like to know the approximate timeframe when pypy on PPC be available? Could PyPy have finalize() method or could be initialized thread by thread ?

Hi, Our scenario is we had a main process, and it will create severl worker threads. Python code is running in worker threads. >From PyPy document, we should do the following: In main process: rpython_startup_code(); pypy_init_threads(); pypy_setup_home(...) Attached is n-queens solver (pardon my naive algorithm), it runs: python 2.7.6: 17s pypy 2.4.0 alpha: 23s same nojit: 32s I've tried similar-looking algorithm for another problem before, and has similar results -- somehow pypy was slower. feel free to investigate / tweak or even use on speed.pypy.org
