Answer Testing question

Hi devs, I have an odd issue that I can’t seem to diagnose. I’m setting up an answer test for two arrays, which are not related to anything in a dataset. I’m doing it using the GenericArrayTest (it’s in the answer testing framework), which compares two NumPy arrays. Request for quick review of PRs 1790 and 1802

Hi devs, My apologies for making this request—I have some PRs that I would like reviewed quickly because they are in direct response to queries from users on the mailing list for my photon simulator analysis module. They fix some major bugs, and directly affect the analysis those users are doing now. They are: 1790: https://bitbucket.org/yt_analysis/yt/pull-requests/1790/bugfix-fix-issues-w… <https://bitbucket.org/yt_analysis/yt/pull-requests/1790/bugfix-fix-issues-w…> and 1802: https://bitbucket.org/yt_analysis/yt/pull-requests/1802/bugfix-fixing-bugs-… <https://bitbucket.org/yt_analysis/yt/pull-requests/1802/bugfix-fixing-bugs-…> 1790 has been passed by fido, but the tests for 1802 will be running soon. Could I get some eyes on these so we could perhaps get them merged in today? I realize that reviewing these is sometimes a bit obtuse since they are rather domain-specific, so I thank you in advance for taking the time to look at them. I’m currently in the process of generating a comprehensive set of tests for the module so that fewer issues like these will crop up. Best, John

New issue 1115: [experimental] add in keyframes for making complex camera paths with scene VR https://bitbucket.org/yt_analysis/yt/issues/1115/experimental-add-in-keyfra… Cameron Hummels: something long talked about is the possibility of doing more camera paths than simple rotation, pans, and zooms. the VR refactor YTEP lays the groundwork for a timeline object and identifying keyframes (ie camera location, focus, orientation, lens type, transfer function, etc.) along that timeline before use a continuously varying function (ie spline) to connect those keyframes into a continuous path. putting this here as a placeholder for implementing this.

New issue 1114: [experimental] opaque sources balanced with render sources https://bitbucket.org/yt_analysis/yt/issues/1114/experimental-opaque-source… Cameron Hummels: Using opaque sources (e.g. points and lines and grids) with render sources (e.g. gas VR) tends to result in either seeing just one or the other out of the box. It takes a lot of work to balance the opacity of the different sources, and it is not documented how to do this. I think we should potentially provide better default opacities associated with these so as to make both points and gas visible in the same rendering out of the box. I think we should also work on documenting easy ways to change the relative opacity of different sources to highlight one source or the other in the rendering.
