[Bug 1047100] [NEW] The logger can throw UnicodeEncodeError if the log message is unicode

Public bug reported: There is code in Mailman's _Syslog.write_ex() method to catch a UnicodeError when writing the log file and quoted-printable encode the log message. This works on messages that contain non-ascii, 8-bit bytes, but if the message is a unicode with non-ascii characters, the attempt to quoted-printable encode it will throw UnicodeEncodeError which is not caught. [Bug 693134] [NEW] Uncaught bounce from Dovecot when Quota Exceeded

Public bug reported: I have a Debian 5 (Lenny) server with Postfix - Dovecot and Mailman 2.1.11 and 1700+ users. [Bug 1074374] [NEW] REST API: Problems with addresses and memberships after deleting a user.

Public bug reported: Hi Barry, I ran into some trouble after deleting a user account via the rest API. Apparently the user's address records were kept, which lead to two problems: - Memberships cannot be retrieved via rest any more. - The deleted user cannot be created again using any of their previous addresses. Steps to reproduce: 1) Create a user through the REST API 2) Delete that user through the REST API 3) Repeat step 1) (possibly because a person wants to register again after leaving) => 500 status code is returned through the REST -- ExistingAddressError is raised. 4) Access /3.0/addresses => Result still contains the email address used in 1). 5) Access /3.0/members => 500 status code is returned As a workaround, I tried to delete all the user's addresses through the API, but doing that returned 405 (Method not allowed). Wouldn't it be best to delete all address/membership records from the db when a user record is deleted? [Bug 1073506] [NEW] Drop support for Python 2.6

Public bug reported: Whenever the dependency stack is ported to Python 3, Mailman 3 will be ported to Python 3. In the meantime, making the code Python 2.7 -3 clean is an intermediate step toward Python 3 support. In order to do this, we really need to drop Python 2.6 support and this will also allow us to improve the test suite, as well as other code improvements.
