Hi PyCQA members I am formally requesting that Unimport be added to PyCQA. It feels more correct to be under PyCQA in order to reach more people, find more contributors, and keep it alive for a long time. Request to add teyit to PyCQA

So, after seeing a couple of additions, I think teyit would be a great addition to the PyCQA's project spectrum. It is a code quality tool for ensuring unittest assertions are as explicit as they can be. Teyit: github.com/isidentical/teyit

What are the best tools for code quality checks to use within Github?

Hi team: Does anyone know an open source tool that checks PR before merge for code quality? I'm looking for something similar to code climate or codacy. I don't want to hook a Jenkins job that makes the usability of Pylint harder. -- Ahmed

You can have a look at diff-cover(https://diff-cover.readthedocs.io/en/latest/README.html), it can find diff lines that have violations (according to tools such as pep8, pyflakes, flake8, or pylint). Thanks Thomas, I will try that. That's my next option. @Florian: Pylint itself is perfectly fine. However, I want to see all the pylint issues to be shown within the PR instead of another console. No old counts in pylint report mode (version 2.4.4)

Hi all, Since my upgrade to Mint 20, I've not had any old counts in my reports, and I'm not sure why. The .pylintrc files have not changed. Here is the output of "pylint --version": " pylint 2.4.4 astroid 2.3.3 Python 3.8.2 (default, Jul 16 2020, 14:00:26) [GCC 9.3.0] " My old pylint version was 1.8.3. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Request to add modernize to the PyCQA

Hello, This is a formal request to add modernize, a tool for modernizing code for hybrid codebases, to the PyCQA. Myself and the other maintainers have agreed that it would better be suited under the PyCQA since this is a tool used to create more quality code.
