I am happy to announce Guppy 3 3.0.7 Guppy 3 is a library and programming environment for Python, currently providing in particular the Heapy subsystem, which supports object and heap memory sizing, profiling and debugging. It also includes a prototypical specification language, the Guppy Specification Language (GSL), which can be used to formally specify aspects of Python programs and generate tests and documentation from a common source. Guppy 3 is a fork of Guppy-PE, created by Sverker Nilsson for Python 2. A proof of concept to replace unreliable python chardet

There is a very old *issue* regarding "encoding detection" in a text file that has been partially resolved by a program like Chardet <https://github.com/chardet/chardet>. I did not like the idea of single prober per encoding table that could lead to hard coding specifications. I wanted to challenge the existing methods of discovering originating encoding. You could consider this issue as obsolete because of current norms : You should indicate used charset encoding as described in standards But the reality is different, a huge part of the internet still have content with an unknown encoding. NumPy 1.17.2 released.

Hi All, On behalf of the NumPy team I am pleased to announce that NumPy 1.17.2 has been released. This release contains fixes for bugs reported against NumPy 1.17.1 along with some documentation improvements. The most important fix is for lexsort when the keys are of type (u)int8 or (u)int16. If you are currently using 1.17 you should upgrade. The Python versions supported in this release are 3.5-3.7, Python 3.8b4 should work with the released source packages, but there are no future guarantees. Downstream developers should use Cython >= 0.29.13 for Python 3.8 support and OpenBLAS >= 3.7 to avoid wrong results on the Skylake architecture. The NumPy wheels on PyPI are built from the OpenBLAS development branch in order to avoid those problems. Wheels for this release can be downloaded from PyPI <https://pypi.org/project/numpy/1.17.2/>, source archives and release notes are available from Github <https://github.com/numpy/numpy/releases/tag/v1.17.2>. *Contributors* A total of 7 people contributed to this release.
