[Twisted-Python] ReverseProxy doesn't send X-Forwarded-For header

The ReverseProxy doesn't send an X-Forwarded-For header field with the real client's IP address. This convention is used by Squid, Pound, and other proxies to communicate the real client's IP address to the destination server. I added the header with the following patch. [Twisted-Python] Problem with ReverseProxy and POST requests

I'm trying to use the Reverse Proxy, and found that the example (proxy.py) works fine for GET requests, but not for POSTs. The problem was that the body of the POST was not being forwarded, so the request would hang while the destination server waited for the rest of the body. I fixed it with the following patch to the ReverseProxyResource method in the module twisted.web.proxy. [Twisted-Python] Conch connection caching behavior over (laptop) suspend actions

I use conch connection sharing pretty extensively, and I love it. As I've been working on a laptop a lot lately, I've noticed something a little undesirable though. When I suspend long enough to disrupt my network connection, then resume, the conch process seems not to be aware that it no longer has a network connection. The ~/.conch-* unix socket remains, and any attempts to connect with conch to the host hang indefinitely. Killing the owner of the unix socket, or simply deleting the unix socket resolves the issue. [Twisted-Python] Woven and WML

I recently got a new WAP-capable phone, and since you can do a lot of interesting things by pointing it at various URLs, I thought I'd try making a cute little website in Woven for my phone to browse. Unfortunately, it seems that this is impossible. The resulting markup from my simple Woven test page had all sorts of woven-stuff all through it - such as pattern attributes that hadn't been removed, and id attributes that were woven's internal IDs, rather than the IDs I tried to set. Modern, capacious HTML browsers wouldn't care, I guess, but my phone's little brain overloaded and gave up. Is this just the way Woven works, or am I likely doing something wrong? Hello, In twisted.internet.stdio, makeConnection is called on the protocol before the writer is set. This is Not Good(TM) because the makeConnection might write a welcome banner in some protocols (twisted.protcols.telnet, for example). Hi. A newbie question: I'd like a bit of clarification in Deferred usage. More specifically, it would be nice if one of the examples on the Twisted Deferred howto page used a real blocking call rather than a reactor.callLater. So, to see if I'm on the right track, I'd like to modify the third code example to use a sleep, to make it better parallel the first code snippet on the howto page. [Twisted-Python] Twiested.Web supports HTTP-compression and Resume/Rest on HTTP-Requests??

Does Twisted.Web support request for compressed content, like gzip etc. ?? And does it support Byte-ranges so that you can use resume a disconnected download? Can anyone shed some light on these features?? Best regards, Thomas

[Twisted-Python] Patch to improve usability of DNS caching

Hi. At http://twistedmatrix.com/~tv/dnscache.patch there is a patch that adds some things to twisted.names: 1. Make the resolv.conf location configurable at mktap time. 2. Reload resolv.conf regularly. resolv_read_interval is the time period, in seconds; currently 60. 3. Note that pickServer may now return None, if there are no hardcoded servers and resolv.conf is empty/cannot be read. This allows me to run a local DNS server bound to 127.0.0.1:53, list that in /etc/resolv.conf, make my DHCP client write it's resolv.conf to /var/run/dhclient.resolv.conf, and point my local DNS server to that. And all this because glibc doesn't reread /etc/resolv.conf for long-living processes. And because I want to control the .local namespace.. -- :(){ :|:&};:
