[Twisted-Python] Buildbot downtime

I am plannig to upgrade twisted's buildbot in the near future. In preperation for that, I am going to take down the production buildbot on Tuesday, June 26, around 1600 UTC[1]. During that time, the result of any builds done will be lost. Thus, I'd ask that people avoid committing to trunk during that time. hi there, folks: I'd really like to release 0.7.0 but I would like it to be at least a little bit tested before I do so. Could those of you with CVS trees check everything out and see if it performs as advertised? Deeper bugs than that will have to wait for the next release, but I'd at least like to know if it works for someone other than me. I would like to announce txZMQ, ZeroMQ bindings for Twisted. txZMQ is based on pyzmq and requires recent ØMQ version (>=2.1). txZMQ uses ØMQ APIs to get file descriptor that is used to signal pending actions from ØMQ library IO thread running in separate thread. txZMQ should be usable with any Twisted reactor. ØMQ is: * The socket library that acts as a concurrency framework. * Carries messages across inproc, IPC, TCP, and multicast. * Connect N-to-N via fanout, pubsub, pipeline, request-reply. * Fast enough for clustered products and supercomputing. * Asynch I/O for scalable multicore message-passing apps. [Twisted-Python] regarding xml elements

Hi, I have an xml file in my application, I have created an element using Example goes like this......... document.createElement("abc") and i appeneded it by using append() method. But how i can reflect this change to my xml file? and one more thing is i want to create element with some other parameters.... like............. <abc m=" " n=" "> </abc> and i have m and n values as strings with me. can anybody help me to create this element and write it to the existing xml file as a child of an existing element? Hi, I start my pet project using Python Nose as test runner. At the start, Twisted not used at all. Later I discovered Twisted and start using it... but testing Twisted requires trial. I resist migrating to Trial and ended up with a custom code for running Twisted tests together with Nose: https://github.com/chevah/chevah-rhinoplasty I though I can share this code on the list, in case there is someone else wrestling with deferres testing outside of Trial. [Twisted-Python] How to dispatch message to different servers

Hi, I have to replace a piece of software that sniffs the traffic on one interface. It gets different messages that are each associated to a specific emitter. On the same machine, one server is started for each emitter (on a different port). And the application is just supposed to use the proper server to send the messages captured (to a client on another machine). Not sure if it's clear, but basically if I have 2 emitters A and B, I'll start 2 servers (a and b). My sniffer will get messages A1, A2, B1, B2, B3... I have to pass messages A1, A2 to server a, that will just send them to the client (if it is connected of course). And B1, B2, B3 to server b. I don't need any buffering. If no client is connected, messages captured are just discarded. To sniff the network, I want to use pylibpcap or pcapy. I found this example to make it work with twisted: http://dound.com/2009/09/integrating-twisted-with-a-pcap-based-python-packe… Starting several servers that use the same protocol is not a problem. But how do I pass the messages captured to the right server? How do I make the link between the function sniffing the network and the servers? Thanks Benjamin

[Twisted-Python] Aborting a connection attempt when HTTPS client detected on HTTP only server?

Hi, I have a probably small issue i need to solve: There is some kind of client that tries a HTTPS connection first and falls back to HTTP if it does not work/times out, because the server does not support SSL. (yes, i know that logic/procedure is kind of stupid from a security point of view, but sadly i cannot change it). When the server is proxied by Apache, this leads to immediate abortion of the connection, but when i connect directly to the server built with Twisted web module, it hangs until a timeout. The client in this case is some libcurl based C++ code using the Windows SChannel SSL API. I now want to have it fail immediately with Twisted too, instead of waiting for the SSL layer on the client side to time out. I found some patch that handles the inverse problem (detect HTTP to HTTPS port): http://twistedmatrix.com/trac/ticket/490 Is there some pre-made solution, or would i have to hook into the connection setup of twisted.web and check the first few bytes for the signs of an SSL Handshake signature? Hi! First mail, and first look at this interesting framework that is twisted. I'm on a Linux Debian. Kindly need help to solve this issue, I've looked at documentation but I miss something. Need to get up a simple web server that will serve html and php pages. The html works but php show a window where you can choose if save or open the file.
