[Twisted-Python] Buildbot downtime

I am plannig to upgrade twisted's buildbot in the near future. In preperation for that, I am going to take down the production buildbot on Tuesday, June 26, around 1600 UTC[1]. During that time, the result of any builds done will be lost. Thus, I'd ask that people avoid committing to trunk during that time. hi there, folks: I'd really like to release 0.7.0 but I would like it to be at least a little bit tested before I do so. Could those of you with CVS trees check everything out and see if it performs as advertised? Deeper bugs than that will have to wait for the next release, but I'd at least like to know if it works for someone other than me. [Twisted-Python] Better usage of Twisted on multi core processor

Hi all, I have a twisted TCP server to listens to client, processes requests, do mysql database operations if needed (using adbapi Connection pool) and return the result. Before deploying this in production, I want to know right way to configure the server. Since twisted is single threaded, how can I leverage multiple cores of my production machine (which has 6 cores and 16 GB RAM) ? One approach that I thought of was to start multiple instances of twisted server on different ports. This would help in using the other cores as well. What do you guys suggest ? Thanks -Sumanth

I would like to announce txZMQ, ZeroMQ bindings for Twisted. txZMQ is based on pyzmq and requires recent ØMQ version (>=2.1). txZMQ uses ØMQ APIs to get file descriptor that is used to signal pending actions from ØMQ library IO thread running in separate thread. txZMQ should be usable with any Twisted reactor. ØMQ is: * The socket library that acts as a concurrency framework. * Carries messages across inproc, IPC, TCP, and multicast. * Connect N-to-N via fanout, pubsub, pipeline, request-reply. * Fast enough for clustered products and supercomputing. * Asynch I/O for scalable multicore message-passing apps. [Twisted-Python] bringing LDAP back

Hello fellow Twistrons, A long time ago, for reasons we need not discuss here, the pure-python LDAP implementation within Twisted was pulled out into a separate package under a different license. Recently however, the authors of this LDAP code have generously re-licensed the code under a Twisted-compatible MIT license, both the original code at <https://github.com/tv42/ldaptor/commit/7e249b1586789a5c588f662ce74ee9f43386…> and the more recent fork (which I believe has more users) at <https://github.com/antong/ldaptor/issues/10>. It seems as though there's even a solution for the problematic MD4 implementation here <https://github.com/tv42/ldaptor/pull/2>. Since there's no active, central hub for ldaptor development, I think we should pull it into the Twisted org on Github, and some of the folks on the Cc: line have volunteered to help with that. Does that sound good to everybody? (Are you excited!!!?) It's also a possibility that we could distribute a for-real SSO back-end with Cred using this, which I'm pretty excited about. -glyph

Hello, I'm pleased to announce the release of Nevow 0.11.1. Nevow is a web application construction kit written in Python and based on Twisted. It is designed to allow the programmer to express as much of the view logic as desired in Python, and includes a pure Python XML expression syntax named stan to facilitate this. However it also provides rich support for designer-edited templates, using a very small XML attribute language to provide bi-directional template manipulation capability. This release includes a number of minor new features and bug fixes. It also includes changes to modernize Nevow's packaging - installation of Nevow using `pip` is now supported. This release also marks the move of Nevow development to Github. Hi, I am implementing a code through which i have to get devices connected to all network interfaces on my machine and list them . For this, i am first getting the ip of all network interfaces and then sending m-search command on them. After 2.5 seconds port is stopped to listen. But it is giving me some assertion error.
