On behalf of the Twisted contributors, I announce the release candidate of Twisted 23.8.0rc1 This is a release that adds support for Python 3.12 This is also the last release with support for Python 3.7 The release and NEWS file is available for review at https://github.com/twisted/twisted/pull/11916 Release candidate documentation is available at https://twisted--11916.org.readthedocs.build/en/11916/ Wheels for the release candidate are available on PyPI https://pypi.org/project/Twisted/23.8.0rc1/ python -m pip install Twisted==23.8.0rc1 Please test it and report any issues. If nothing comes up in one week, I will do the final release based on the latest release candidate. Planing for 2023.08.0 release

Hi, With the help from Thomas, we now have support for Python 3.12 in trunk. Also, Python 3.7 is end of life. With that in mind, I think it's a good time to do a new release. This will be the last release with support for Python 3.7 Do you have any objections for cutting a release now? Do you want a specific ticket or PR to be included in the next release? I plan to do a release candidate tomorrow, afternoon UTC time :) Regards -- Adi Roiban
