Well of course, Glyph's "interesting module" comment was just enough of a table scrap to get me running, tail wagging furiously. The result (unit testing in progress) is a full-fledged SynchronousTasks object that runs a priority queue of synchronous tasks with niceness scheduling. Hello, I'm trying to connect to icq. ..\Lib\site-packages\TwistedDocs\examples\oscardemo.py gives me following messages: ... Unhandled error in Deferred: Traceback (most recent call last): Failure: twisted.internet.error.TCPTimedOutError: TCP connection timed out: 10060: Unknown error. ... when looking in my icq pro 2003 setup I've noticed that we use http proxy here in office. so how can I modify oscardemo.py just to connect to icq? I've got environment variable http_proxy=http://digits.digits.digits:digits_port_number Other network based utilities (perl for example) recognize this variable and use this proxy. Hi, Im writing a simple network monitoring system for my internal work network. ive got most of it sussed.. snmp, port probs etc.. but im strugling when it comes to pinging the boxes.. is there a simple way to do this? if not what would be the best way of going about it? Thanks Carl

[Twisted-Python] Upgrade Questions

I'm in the process of upgrading the FreeBSD port of TwistedCore and I have a couple of questions: - The source distribution used to be hosted both on the twistedmatrix.com and tmrc.mit.edu sites. It only seems to be on the latter now. Is this true or is there another site I can add to the list of master sites since it's always nice to allow the port system to try other sites if one is down? - There seems to be a problem while performing the install_lib phase of the installation during byte compiling. I get the following: byte-compiling /var/tmp/port-name/lib/python2.4/site-packages/twisted/test/stdio_test_halfclose.py to stdio_test_halfclose.pyc File "/var/tmp/port-name/lib/python2.4/site-packages/twisted/test/stdio_test_halfclose.py", line 20 ??? ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax There actually appears to be a "???" on this line. I have another quick question about the new 2.4.0 release of TwistedCore: What happened to the pb directory and it's contents as it seems to have been removed from the distribution? Should I be worrying about this? Regards, Neal Nelson.

I'm a little bit concerned about attendance for the June 3-4 Sydney Sprint. The wiki page only lists two people: http://twistedmatrix.com/trac/wiki/SydneySprint Unfortunately that page requires a trac login with edit permissions to change, so I'm afraid some people have been unable to add themselves to the list. Would everyone attending be kind enough to reply to this thread? Also, can anyone recommend accommodations near the UTS campus? Cheers, -Eric
