Hello Guys, I am trying to learn how to use the qtreactor (I am using pyQT and TwistedMatrix) but i am facing few issues. I created a simple Ui, just a MainWindow and a QTreeWidget. The point is: I can execute and See my MainWindow using the code below under Mac OS X, but if I execute the same code on Linux, it will show me only the window, without the QTreeWidget. I noticied that the issue is under the install() method, since I can see the Window correctly if I remove the install() method. [Twisted-Python] WSDL Proxy Send variable names

Hi, I need to be able to send variable names when sending requests to a SOAP server. Currently SOAPpy sends my variables automatically named as v1, v2, v3. [Twisted-Python] Modifying Echo example

Hello, I am trying to learn about Twisted Matrix, and for that I am modifying the Echo Client & Server example to archive few goals: From now, I have modified this example to: Make the client send some requests and have the server reply for each request. So, for example: if the client sends "Hello!", the server will reply : "Hello, [ip address of client]". But my point is: I can handle the communication between 1 server and 1 client only, but how Can I do if I have multiple clients connected? My objective is: I have 4 clients connected, and I want the server to send a data to only one specific client (I will provide the ip address and port for this specific client) I imagine that The correct way to do this is: having one thread for each client connection, and calling that specific thread to write down a message, am I correct? [Twisted-Python] What is the right way to pass variables from Site to Resource?

I've got some global state and configuration information. It seems to me that they ought to be members of my Site, but I don't see any obvious way in a Resource.render_* to get the current Site. Neither Request nor Resource have a instance or method that returns its Site that I can find. Am I missing something, or am I confused about the Twisted way of doing things?

[Twisted-Python] Is AMP secure enough for the internet?

Hello, I'm planning a data collector gateway and wondering whether Twisted's AMP would be good for the task. AMP seems to be a good fit for the job, but I'm not sure about the security. I make the client side too, but I won't operate it, bad guys can take over that side and I want to protect my side. What would I like to do: 1. authenticate and authorize connecting clients with their SSL certificates 2. securely transfer arbitrary (binary and json) data from and to the clients (both the server and client would be twisted) 3. protect the server from malicious clients I have some concerns about all three. For the first, is this OK now: http://twistedmatrix.com/pipermail/twisted-python/2007-August/015926.html ? For the second: the server should not be affected by the data which the client sends. I mean exploiting bugs in the data paths and limited protection from DoS, like abusing blocking pieces of code and therefore halting the reactor, or preventing memory overflow (if it sends 3TBs of data, it shouldn't be queued up in RAM, I should be in control about what happens in this case, or twisted should be clear measures for these) etc... And by the third I mean the above, plus for example if I have only one command defined for AMP with one string argument then no matter what happens, the client should only access that function with that argument and no other part of the program. How do you feel, is Twisted and AMP a good choice for that? Thanks,

Hi, Is there a way to use autoincrement in axiom ? I need a property in my model that reflects the last row id after every insert operation. Also, is it safe to use non-db variables in axiom model ? something like class test1(Item): name = attributes.text() surname = "my non db variable" The interpretor does throw an error but that can be overcome by using self.__dict__['surname'] = "non db" . Just wanted to know if this is recommended or not sorry, if this' already been answered; i did search but couldn't find the answer. Thanks
